We're on a Mission

to prove pecans were meant for more than just pie. We are committed to creating products that not only celebrate the bold and buttery flavor of pecans but also have strong nutritional value, ingredient integrity, and offer a unique and satisfying snacking experience.

Welcome to the Pecan Party, Y’all!

South Georgia Pecan Company was founded in Valdosta, Georgia by the Pearlman family and was one of the first pecan cracking and shelling facilities in the area.

South Georgia Pecan is purchased by Beatrice Foods.

The Worn’s third child and first son Jeff was born and raised smack dab in the middle of the pecan business! It’s in his blood!

As an avid gym-goer and outdoor enthusiast, Jeff’s food philosophy has always been “put good in, get good out”. He also saw a gap in the natural food space for more pecan products!

Roots run deep in this small town, so Jeff brought his friend from high school, Hannah Russell, on board to help him further develop the brand and products.

South Georgia Pecan is incorporated.

SGP was purchased by the Worn and Crane Family in the early 1980’s. Jim Worn worked his way through the ranks for 13 years before purchasing with the Crane family. He established the company as one of the nation’s top processors and suppliers of pecans.

After college, Jeff began “officially” working for the business putting all his lifelong pecan knowledge to good use!

Being a pecan sheller, Jeff knew the oversupply of material that is a result of the cracking process. His dad taught in him that a holistic approach to manufacturing pecans was important to maintain, so he took his advice and began ‘upcycling’ the unused pieces to create the first and only one-ingredient pecan butter.

After many failed attempts, taste tests, and trials, Purely Pecans (deliciously unique!) pecan butters officially launched into marketplace in summer 2018 and are only just the beginning!

Company Tree

our story

Purely Pecans was born out of Jeff's desire to achieve a zero waste supply chain and create more pecan-based snacks that could help fuel his active lifestle. Not to mention, no one's makin' Pecan Butter like us - straight from the farm to the jar.

With every new pecan product we dream up, you can always count on us to make it three things: sustainable, delicious, and nutritious.

Because we believe in the best for your family, and ours.

OUR PECANS

From our Farms to Your Kitchen

We work with over 300 pecan farmers in the southern states in what we call “The Pecan Belt,” and we process our pecans in our hometown of Valdosta, Georgia - the heart of Pecan Country.

No farms. No food. We take that very seriously ‘round our parts! Our growers are the life force behind all that we do at Purely Pecans. We’re committed to ensuring there is a strong future ahead for nutrient-dense, pecan-based products.

No sweat, because pecans make it easy for us. Our favorite little tree nuts are true nut-ritional powerhouses - high in vitamins and minerals, healthy fats, as well as antioxidants and fiber. (So… get you some more!)
